Hard Freezes then a warming trend by late week

Wednesday_Morning_Temps.png

As I say all too often, Winter is never over until March says so! This year is no exception. Hard Freezes coming up for both Wednesday and Thursday Morning, then a gradual warm up by late week.

(IMAGE GALLERY ABOVE: #1. PROJECTED MORNING LOWS FOR WEDNESDAY, EVEN SOME 10s POSSIBLE......#2. DAY PLANNER FOR WEDNESDAY.........#3. SHOWERS POSSIBLE BY LATE FRIDAY)

HARD FREEZES WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY MORNING

Early blooming plants are at risk the next two morning. A hard freeze means that temperatures will be dropping below freezing for longer than 6 hours. And, temperatures won't be just below 32 degrees, they could drop on average to the low/mid 20s and even some 10s north and east. This could again occur Thursday Morning with temperatures near the same level and for over 6 hours.

So, you will need to bring in or cover any unprotected plants. And, please bring your pets inside!!

SUNSHINE RETURNS

Even with the bitter cold results each morning, at least sunshine will be returning. Sunny, breezy and chilly Wednesday with afternoon highs still about 20 degrees below average. Afternoon highs should only reach the low/mid 40s (30s local mountains). Still breezy with a northwest wind at 10-15 mph. Sunny and not as breezy Thursday. Therefore, temperatures should be a little milder reaching the lower 50s by late afternoon (40s mountains).

NEXT RAIN CHANCE

Clouds should return Friday, but also just a little warmer with high temperatures in the lower 60s (50s mountains). Some showers could move in by sunset Friday and continue through most of Friday Night through Saturday Morning. Rainfall amounts could range between 0.50" to 0.75". It looks like the rain should end Saturday Morning, then drier through the afternoon. Expect low 60s Saturday Afternoon, then a few degrees cooler with upper 50s Sunday Afternoon and partly sunny.

As always you can depend on the StormTrack 9 Team for updates!
