A much colder weekend, but milder by Halloween
A strong cold front brings rain, then the coldest air of the season so far! A few spots locally could even have the first freeze of the season Sunday and Monday Morning.
FALLING RAINDROPS & TEMPERATURES SATURDAY
The cold front pushes through the Tennessee Valley Saturday Morning. So, the wettest part of the day should be during the morning through midday. Then, the rain ends from west to east during the afternoon. Rainfall amounts could range on average from 0.60" to 1.00". A few local spots could go just over an inch.
Colder air moves in throughout the day. The "high" temperatures for Saturday should be BEFORE sunrise in the 50s. Then, falling into and remaining in the 40s for the remainder of the day along with a brisk northwest wind.
Drier for Saturday Night as temperatures fall into the mid 30s on average. A few spots away from the city could drop to the freezing mark.
SUN & CHILLY SUNDAY
A cold start Sunday does not get much warmer by the afternoon. A sunny to partly sunny sky and still breezy at times throughout the day. Afternoon highs should range from the mid/upper 40s mountains and lower 50s valley. 30s again Sunday Night through Monday morning. And, a lot of areas away from the city should dip to or just below the freezing mark.
MILDER BY HALLOWEEN
The Winter-like feel for the weekend moves out quickly and just in time for Halloween. A little warmer by Halloween Tuesday. But, nothing like the record heat of Halloween 2016 with 86 degrees. This Halloween will be exactly how it should be. Partly sunny with low/mid 60s during the afternoon. Then 50s for Trick or Treating during the evening.
WARMING TREND NEXT WEEK
The milder weather for Halloween signals the start of a warming trend that should continue through next week. Afternoon highs should be in the mid 60s most of the week, but near 70 by next Friday. After the frost and freeze threat Monday Morning, low temperatures for the remainder of the week should average in the 40s.
Some showers could occur Wednesday through Friday, but nothing heavy.
