Throwback: Calvin goes skydiving in 1993

Calvin limps off the field, with what was later diagnosed as a broken ankle.

Why would anybody want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane?

Because they can.

After we take a 'crash course' in skydiving (you'll see why that term fits), we take the plunge from more than 12,000 feet in the sky above Tullahoma, Tennessee.

In this installment of "Calvin's Consumer Guide to Grown-Up Fun" from 1993, we learned two things..

First.. jumping out of an airplane does absolutely nothing to cure a fear of heights.

And second many work-related injuries are covered by workman's comp.
