Alana LaFlore joined the NewsChannel 9 team as multimedia journalist in February, 2016.
She's originally from Syracuse, New York, where she worked at Time Warner Cable News. It was the area's only local 24-hour cable news network. Before that, she spent more than a year at Time Warner Cable News's Utica, NY bureau.
She attended Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, where she earned a Master of Science in Broadcast and Digital Journalism. She has a B.A. from Marist College in Public Relations and Radio/TV/Film.
While earning her degrees, Alana interned at several news and media companies in Atlanta, New York City, Syracuse and London, which is her favorite city in the world.
Throughout her career, she has covered a wide range of topics, everything from the Baseball Hall of Fame induction in Cooperstown to a controversial lawsuit between city and county government and a tornado that left an infant dead. Alana pursued a career in reporting because it allows her to do what she loves; being creative and telling stories. As a multimedia journalist, she shoots all her own video - another one of her passions.
Alana is excited to try out southern living and explore Chattanooga! If you have any story ideas, email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
