Tebow stops in Rome before a sellout crowd

Tim Tebow takes batting practice for the Columbia Fireflies against the Rome Braves. Monday night's game, Tuesday's and Wednesday's are all sellouts.

Unless an extravagant night of fireworks is on tap, many times it's difficult to sell out minor league baseball parks.

That is, until Tim Tebow comes to town.

The former Heisman Trophy winner and beloved Florida Gator has turned his attention to baseball.

Tebow is playing for the New York Mets Class A team, the Columbia Fireflies.

They played the Rome Braves beginning Monday night, with the series slated through Wednesday.

All three games are said to be sell-outs.

NewsChannel 9 Sports Director Dave Staley met Tebow one-on-one and talked some baseball with him (click the video above to watch).
