With just two months left in the 2017 Cabela's School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia race, schools from across the nation are in pure competition mode, searching for every possible point they can earn to add to their total. As it stands right now, Bryan College remains in first place with a total of 1942 points, followed by University of North Alabama in second with 1878 points, and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in third with 1800 points.

"This is so big for us because we are still a relatively new program. We are just in our 3rd year of competing and the recognition this would bring to our school and our team would be huge. We couldn't be happier!" said Bryan College Coach, Michael Keen.

There are still 15 sanctioned-events that qualify for Cabela's School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia which means that the title is still up for grabs. A pair of key Cabela's Collegiate Bass Fishing Series event yet to take place in the near future are the Texas Collegiate Challenge, and the most prestigious event in college fishing, the 2017 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Presented by Cabela's. Both are double points events that are sure to shake up the standings.
