Terrell Robinson Rejoins the Mocs
By Darrell Patterson
Quarterback Terrell Robinson, who quit the Chattanooga Mocs on Tuesday, has had a change of heart and rejoined the team.
On Wednesday, head coach Russ Huesman said if Robinson had a change of heart and asked to come back, he would allow it, if the team voted to take him back.
Robinson met with Huesman this morning. The coach said the redshirt sophomore from South Pittsburg was very humble, that he said he was sorry for letting the team down and wanted to come back.
Robinson will rejoin the team at practice Thursday afternoon, but will be off-limits to the media. Coach Huesman will talk to reporters at 3:00.
The coach said Robinson, who was the co-freshman of the year in the Southern Conference last season, after coming off the bench and quarterbacking the Mocs after B.J. Coleman was injured, will not be on the travel squad going to Jacksonville State, but said Robinson indicated he would make his own way and be at the game to support his teammates.
The head coach's son, Jacob, a redshirt freshman, who split playing time with Robinson in last Saturday's season-opening loss at South Florida, will start against the Gamecocks Saturday. Redshirt junior Graham Nichols is the backup.
Huesman and the Mocs offensive coaches game-plan going forward will be the same as it was a week ago, in that they'll use both Robinson and Jacob Huesman at quarterback, with some plays designed to have them both on the field at the same time.
Hear from coach Huesman at 6:00 on NewsChannel9.
