Eastern Kentucky and LSU are two of only 14 unbeaten teams in college basketball. The Chattanooga Mocs lost to Eastern Kentucky last Saturday night at the Roundhouse, they played the Bengal Tigers Tuesday night in Baton Rouge.
LSU, playing their first game since beating Seton Hall on Thanksgiving, jumped out to a 7-0 lead, but Z Mason hit a couple of buckets, Ronrico White nailed a trey and a 2-pointer, and the Mocs had a 9-7 lead.
The pendulum then swung LSU's way. They scored eight straight points and led 15-9 before the Mocs went on a 14-to-5 run... back-to-back treys from Mason and White made it 23-20 Mocs.
The pendulum swung again. LSU reeled off 11 straight points, and outscored the Mocs 22-7 in the last 9-and-a-half minutes of the first half and led 42-30 at the break.
The Mocs chopped that deficit to two points in the first 8-and-a-half minutes of the second half... another Mason trey made it 55-53 with 11:24 to go.
But that was the Mocs last gasp.
LSU ran their lead to 17 points, coasting to an 80-67 win.
Johnny O'Bryant and Andre Stringer with 18 apiece for the Tigers.
Mason scored a career-high 22 points, Ronrico White 17 for the Mocs, now 2 and 7 this season. UTC will host Mercer Sunday afternoon at 3:00.Mocs Lose at LSU
