Mocs Come Up Short Against Kennesaw State
Coach Will Wade's Chattanooga Mocs jumped out to a quick lead over Kennesaw State Tuesday night at McKenzie Arena, but the Owls came back, took the lead and kept it for most of the first half... but what an entertaining first half it was.
The Owls would make a little run, the Mocs would reel 'em back in.... that's the way the game flowed in the first 20 minutes, Mocs down by a point at the break.
The Owls led for most of the second half, but the Mocs wouldn't go quietly.
Gee McGhee and Z Mason led a rally that got the Mocs even with 3:23 to go.
A Mocs turnover with less than 30 seconds left resulted in a Kennesaw dunk... a couple of free throws gave the Owls a 73-69 win.
McGhee had 18 points, Casey Jones 17 for the Mocs, who fall to 2-2 on the young season.
Next up, the Las Vegas Invitational.... the Mocs play Nevada in Reno Friday night, then UCLA at Pauley Pavilion in LA Sunday night... then to Las Vegas for games on Thanksgiving Day and the day after.By Darrell Patterson
