The SEC regular season champion Tennessee Lady Vols played Texas A&M Saturday afternoon in the tournament semifinals in Duluth, GA.
The Aggies got out of the gate quicker, taking a seven point lead, but the Lady Vols battled back, cutting the lead to 1, then charging in front with an 8-0 run to start the second half.
Taber Spani was pretty much a one-lady wrecking crew. She scored a career-high 33 points, helping the Lady Vols open up a 10-point lead.
But the Aggies steadily chipped away at that lead.
Freshman Courtney Walker only scored 4 points, but both of her baskets came down the stretch.
Her jumper with 35 seconds left put the Aggies ahead and proved to be the game winner, as they take it 66-62, snapping a streak of three straight trips to the SEC finals for the Lady Vols, who'll still most likely be a 2 or 3 seed in the NCAA tournament.
A&M will go up against Kentucky in Sunday's championship game. The Wildcats crushed Georgia Saturday night 60-38.Lady Vols Lose in SEC Tournament Semifinals
