A 14-game winning streak.... a 25-game home winning streak.... and the Southern Conference regular season championship was on the line Monday night when the UTC Lady Mocs welcomed Davidson to the Roundhouse.
Head Coach Wes Moore looking for his 12th regular season title in 15 years as the Lady Mocs head coach. The last home game for Lady Mocs seniors Kylie Lambert and Kayla Christopher, who were hoping to nail down an 18th SoCon championship for the Lady Mocs.... their first since those two were freshmen in 2010.
After a somewhat see-saw first half, the Lady Mocs got their mo-jo working and pulled away.
It was a three-point advantage at the break... Christopher, Lambert, Ashlen Dewart and company ran the lead to 7, to 9 and to 11 points with under 6 minutes to go.
Dewart has her 10th game with 20 or more points, scoring 24 while pulling down 9 rebounds.
Christopher scored 11 in the 68-59 win over the second-place Wildcats.
It's a school-record 26th straight home-court win for the Lady Mocs, who are now 25-3 overall, 18-1 in SoCon games.
They'll finish up their regular season Saturday at App State, then it's on to the SoCo tournament in Asheville March 9th.Lady Mocs Win SoCon Championship
