Georgia Coach Fox Says Team Will Work Harder
Georgia head basketball coach Mark Fox signed autographs and shook many hands last night in Dalton. And Fox is excited about his two new signees for the upcoming season.
Fox said, "Yante Maten, who was the player of the year in Michigan, Gatorade Player of the Year in Michigan. He's a 6'8" power forward who we think can make a real impact on our team. He's a versatile player who can score. 13:45 Then we signed a big Nigerian player, Osahen Iduwe, 6'10",230 (lbs), very athletic, a little inexperienced in the game. Just has physical talent we're excited to work with."
Donte Williams was the only senior on this past season's squad.
Fox believes that will bode well for the future. "The guys that put the ball in the basket are all coming back and if they'll have a good off season, we think we'll have a good team."
Fox's team broke the 20-win mark, but was not invited to the Big Dance. He found that surprising and also a challenge. "The focus is really working this summer to be more complete, more consistent, little bit more physical. If we can do that, hopefully we can pop that bubble," Fox said.
And Dawg fans in the area can see the team next year without a trip to Athens. They're playing the Mocs this season, at McKenzie Arena.
"I think it was an easy one for us to add, and he did a great job with his team last year. Hopefully, it'll be a good ballgame."
