Braves End 4 Game Skid
The Atlanta Braves were on a slippery slope heading into the final game with the Mets in a four-game series.
Aaron Harang made sure they didn't fall off. He pitched seven innings, giving up only four hits and one run.
The Braves staked him to an early lead. In the top of the first inning, first baseman Freddie Freeman drove in the first run with a solid double to right field. Andrelton Simmons scored standing up. Jason Heyward followed with a flare to left to bring Freeman home. The Braves led 2-0 after one inning.
In the third inning, Justin Upton grounded into a double play. But, Simmons was on third and there were no outs in the inning. Simmons scored.
The Mets would have one player score, but the Braves defense was otherwise solid.
Closer Craig Kimbrel came on for the save, his 28th--the most in the majors.
