UT A.D. promises to increase Lady Vols brand visibility

Reversing a 2015 decision that didn't sit well with Vols nation, University of Tennessee Athletic Director John Currie announced Thursday afternoon that the Lady Vols brand would no longer be diminished.


The changes take effect for the 2018-2019 school year.

WATE reports that Currie says the Lady Vol logo is a brand, not just a distinction between men and women.

Currie says the Lady Vols logo will return, but the "Power T" is still the official logo for all Tennessee Volunteers teams.

Currie called the Lady Vols logo as "iconic as the checkerboard end zone.

Currie says Lady Vols clothing will begin to be sold on campus again starting in 2018.
