Mocs softball looking for a fresh start to 2018 season
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. —
The Mocs softball season starts a week from Friday in Louisiana.
The team wants to put the 15-38 season from last year behind them.
Head coach Frank Reed returns a lot of offense and has added some speed.
Reed said he thought about last season, but wants it behind him.
It was an injury plagued season with only "one and a half" pitchers.
This year, they have six, including Oregon State transfer Heidi Hall.
Sophomore Celie Hudson will be the number one starter.
Reed said she has been impressive, "She's worked really really hard all summer. She's in really really good shape and she's been able to control the back issues. Hopefully, she's going to have a fantastic year for us."
The Mocs open the season in a tournament in Monroe, Louisiana on February 9th against Stephen F. Austin.
