UPDATE: The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) responded Monday after seeing the video, saying it is a bobcat, not a cougar.

LEBANON, Tenn. (WZTV) - Lebanon resident Jim Kutz says he has captured a cougar and her cubs on video.

Kutz says he has been telling various agencies he's spotted cougars in the area but wasn't taken seriously. So, he set up his camera and finally captured them on video.

The video camera was in a heavily wooded area near the I-840 and I-40 merge. The area is behind the KOA Campground property on about 200 acres. The tree in the top left of the video is about 3 feet wide, which would mean the adult cougar is around 5 to 6 feet in length and likely about 3.5 feet tall.

Kutz says if you watch the cat wag its tail by the tree, it appears to be much longer than that of a bobcat.
