Students, driver unharmed after Catoosa Co. bus crash
RINGGOLD, Ga. —
A Catoosa County Schools bus was involved in a crash with another vehicle Monday morning. It was the first day students went back to school.
It happened in Ringgold on Thompson Mill Road just before 8:00 a.m. A Georgia State Patrol Trooper said the driver of a truck was pulling on to Thompson Mill Road when he side-swiped the bus. The Trooper said none of the children on board were injured. He said another bus came to transport the students to school.
Charles Sturdivant said he was the driver who hit the bus. He was also not injured. He talked about the crash.
"I was on my way to work. I pulled up the hill and out of my yard, but I didn't see the bus and I kind of swiped the back of it," Sturdivamt said. "Nobody was hurt, as far as I know, so that's good."
Sturdivant said the bus was coming around a curve, and because of the hill, he did not not see the bus. He said he was not given a ticket.
Neither the school bus or Sturdivant's truck sustained any serious damage.
