This weekend, family and friends said their final goodbyes to a man many call a pillar in the Chattanooga community.

Tom Edd Wilson passed away in his Signal Mountain home last weekend.

A Service of the Resurrection was at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church Saturday.

"He didn't just get on a board. He got on a board and served and changed the organization anyway he could make the organization better and the community better so our community is very, very blessed to have had him for the twenty five years that we have," said close friend, Grady Williams.

Wilson served as former Chairman of the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and he was the group's President when the city secured the Volkswagen plant back in 2008.
