Massengale found guilty in 2015 Soddy-Daisy murder
SODDY-DAISY, Tenn. —
A jury found Chad Massengale guilty of first-degree murder in the death of 51-year-old Tony Rector in 2015. The verdict was announced Friday afternoon.
Soddy Daisy Police (SDP) arrested three men in early 2016 after finding Rector's body dumped at the Soddy Presbyterian Church cemetery on December 29th, 2015.
Dekota Burchard, Roy Henderson, and Chad Massengale were arrested. Massengale admitted to beating Rector up and then stomping on him several more times, ultimately causing his death.
Autopsy reports show Rector was beaten and stabbed before being dumped in the cemetery.
Massengale's first-degree murder conviction carries with it an automatic life sentence.
Dekota Burchard and Roy Henderson also face first-degree murder charges. They are both due in court on August 2nd.
