Man wanted in Elizabeth Thomas AMBER Alert added to TBI's Top 10 Most Wanted
COLUMBIA, Tenn. (WZTV) —
UPDATE: According to Tennessee Bureau of Investigation they now have received approximately 250 tips from 24 states.
The low number of tips, combined with the limited resources Cummins is believed to have in his possession, leads investigators to believe he may be keeping her out of view of the general public.
For example, he potentially may have them sleeping in the vehicle or Cummins may have driven them far away from Tennessee to a rural community.
Having now been on the run for more than five days, Cummins may have taken her, frankly, anywhere.
The man wanted in the AMBER Alert of a Maury County teen has been added to the TBI's Top 10 Most Wanted.
Tad Cummins, 50, is now charged with aggravated kidnapping and sexual contact with a minor in the case of missing 15-year-old Elizabeth Thomas.
Thomas and Cummins have been missing for four days. TBI said Thursday they have had no credible sightings of the pair and have no idea where they are.
A nationwide BOLO has been issued. The FBI and National Center for Missing & Exploited Children are involved in the case. TBI is pleading for the story to go national and for everyone to be on the lookout.
Anyone who sees Cummins or Thomas should call 911 immediately. Anyone with information on their whereabouts should call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
Cummins' wife Jill addressed him at Friday's news conference begging for him to turn himself in and come home.
