The Hamilton County School Board unanimously votes to approve 2 year contract with Durham Bus Services.

The school board have been debating the contract renewal for months, after the Woodmore Bus Crash in 2016.

Since then, the School Board has been looking into alternatives such as an increase in independent bus drivers, who own and operate their own vehicle.

Last week, Durham School Service CEO David Duke made an appearance at the School Board.

He talked about changes made to the company since the accident, and how that day affected him.

The company announced it would install smart cameras on all buses, create an online complaint system and hire bus monitors.
