DuPont, East Ridge Elementary Schools awarded Annenberg Grants
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. —
DuPont Elementary & East Ridge Elementary have each been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Leonore Annenberg School Fund for Children through the Public Education Foundation (PEF).
PEF says DuPont Elementary will remodel and repurpose its existing library into the "Epicenter of Learning and Collaboration," provide students with new books and e-readers, build a "Mealtime Conversation" learning lab, and refurbish areas dedicated to technology and collaboration.
East Ridge Elementary will allow students at all levels to benefit from a new "Synergy Station" with updated reading materials, literacy technology, and new seats in its library.
This is the eighth year PEF has partnered with The Leonore Annenberg School Fund for Children bringing more than $1 million to 14 Chattanooga area elementary schools to fund computers, reading & science labs, art studios, media centers, playground improvements, and a student leadership program.
