Crews repair small pipeline leak in Shoal Creek

Crews are working to repair a pipeline that's leaking into a creek in Hamilton County.

The Chattanooga Fire Department says Colonial Pipeline had a very small leak of gasoline that got into Shoal Creek, near the Tennessee River.

The pipeline was shut down while repairs are made and containment booms were deployed.

CFD says the leak was too small to cause any danger to the public.

HAZMAT teams with Chattanooga and Hamilton County responded to the scene to help with the containment.

CFD says technicians with Colonial Pipeline will repair the pipeline, and they will be responsible for any cleanup that is required.
