Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy celebrates new gym
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. —
After a 4 year long wait, Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy celebrated the grand opening of its brand new Hutton Gymnasium on Wednesday.
The building is just the first phase in what the school calls an "ambitious campus expansion initiative."
The gym bears the name of Karen Hutton, the founder and president of HUTTON, a local real-estate and development company.
Executive Director of CGLA, Dr. Elaine Swafford said Ms. Hutton spearheaded the renovation and contributed a substantial percentage of the $500,000 that made it happen.
The new gym, or Mustang Den as Swafford called it, has a new floor, ceiling, bleachers, and gym equipment.
Students were thrilled to see the new gym on Wednesday.
9th grader Justice Agnew said "it means new opportunities and great things to experience and more things to come. I am very excited for it and all the other students are too."
