Former Good Morning Chattanooga anchor Melydia Clewell and StormTrack 9 Meteorologist Bill Race appeared on This N That on Tuesday to remember Don Welch, who passed away from Lewy Body Dementia on Sunday.

Don, Bill and Melydia started the day for thousands of viewers in the NewsChannel 9 viewing area between 1992 and 2000.

As they tell host James Howard, they didn't have a "game plan" when they started:

Just like with Bob Johnson and Darrell Patterson, Melydia, Don and Bill were a winning team whose off-camera friendship was on display while on the air.

You can watch Bob and Darrell reminisce about the days with Don here.

More photos of Don and community reaction to his death here.

A public gathering to remember and celebrate Don's life will be held on Friday, October 20th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home on Hixson Pike.

A private family service and commital will be held at a later date.

Those desiring may make a contribution in Don's name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. You can contribute online here, or by mail, at Foundation Processing, Michael J. Fox Foundation, Post Office Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.

Bill Race posted this on his personal Facebook page shortly after Don had passed:
