Charles Liles

The Jackson County, Ala. Sheriff's Department is hoping the public can help locate Charles Leon Liles.

A spokesperson said on Friday, Nov. 30, Jackson County Deputy John Stover stopped at the BP Quick Stop at Highway 35 and Gant Road in Scottsboro, AL.  to  check two suspicious men standing in the back of the business.  He said one of the men, later identified as Liles, fled on foot.

Tracking dogs tracked Liles to an area near the water treatment plant on Highway 35.  They say Liles broke and conti nued running into a swampy marsh area across Highway 35. They saif after two hours of searching with no sign of Liles, the search was called of.

On Monday, Dec. 3, the department was contacted by family members of Liles who said that had not heard from him and they were concerned.

Officials again initiated a search in the area where Liles was last seen, including an Alabama State Troopers helicopter.  After 5 hours the search was called off. 

The Jackson County Sheriff's Dept. asks that anyone with knowledge of Liles whereabouts please call 256-574-2610.
