The renovation of the 5th floor space began in mid-2012, and the finished product includes a new nurses’ station and modular office areas as well as extensive updates of 12 patient rooms and bathrooms, a main hallway, and auxiliary rooms.
“In addition to providing additional capacity for Parkridge’s cardiac recovery unit, the space will also serve as the model for future renovations of inpatient areas throughout the hospital,” notes Director of Cardiac Services Barry Bell. “The nurses’ station has an open look and feel, and the decoration for the rooms include artwork created by our Cardiac Recovery nursing team. We are very pleased with the way the project turned out.”
The Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon cutting in the new CRU at 1 pm.
