JOAN RIVERS-DOCTOR LEAVES CLINIC

NEW YORK (AP) -- The head of the surgery facility where Joan Rivers went into cardiac arrest has moved on. A spokesman for Yorkville Endoscopy says Dr. Lawrence Cohen is no longer the head of the facility -- and will no longer do procedures there. The clinic isn't elaborating on the circumstances of Cohen's departure. Rivers died September 4 at a New York hospital -- a week after she went into cardiac arrest during a procedure at the Yorkville facility. The state health department is investigating the case, as is the city's medical examiner.

AP Entertainment Editor Oscar Wells Gabriel reports on a departure at the outpatient surgery facility where Joan Rivers went into cardiac arrest during a routine procedure.

BOX OFFICE

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Something new at one and two at the movies this weekend. The thriller "No Good Deed" opens at number-one. Idris Elba stars as an escaped convict, while Taraji P. Henson is the woman he terrorizes. The film takes in 24 and a-half million dollars this weekend. The feel-good family film "Dolphin Tale 2" opens in second place. Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd return in the sequel. "Guardians of the Galaxy" drops from first to third. But Guardians is still the year's top money-maker -- taking more than 300 million dollars so for.

There's a new number-one at the nation's theaters. The AP's Jamie Friar looks at the weekend box office figures.

TARAJI P. HENSON-"NO GOOD DEED"

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Taraji P. Henson says all her Hollywood friends told her she wouldn't be able to land Idris Elba in her movie -- after the actor had landed the key role in "Mandela." But Henson says she was able to pull it off. She's the executive producer for "No Good Deed" -- and says she took the personal route to get Elba on board. She says she called him, congratulated him on getting the Mandela gig -- then reminded him that he had promised to do "No Good Deed." Henson says she threw in the fact that she was counting on the money from the film to help put her son through college. She jokes that she also begged and cried -- and that Elba "fell for it."

The movie finished number-one in this past weekend's box office race, taking in $24.5 million.

Idris Elba describes the dynamics of the movie "No Good Deed."

Taraji P. Henson

Taraji P. Henson says doing all-night shoots and fight scenes for "No Good Deed" was no walk in the park.

BILL HADER/KRISTEN WIIG-"SKELETON TWINS"

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig are used to doing comedy -- having been veterans of "Saturday Night Live." So they say when they were offered roles in "Skeleton Twins," they were hoping that the movie wouldn't be something dramatic. They needn't have worried. With Luke Wilson and Ty Burrell in the cast, there was little chance of it being Shakespeare -- so they were safe. Kristen Wiig suggests that directors and producers tend to think inside the box, so it's unlikely that they'd end up with a lot of dramatic roles coming their way.

Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig say with all the funny people in the cast, they couldn't see "Skeleton Twins" as being anything but a comedy.

<<CUT ..010 (09/15/14)>> 00:16 "might be interesting"

Kristen Wiig

Kristen Wiig says it doesn't seem to take long to get pigeonholed as an actor.

VINCENT PIAZZA-LIGHTER FARE

NEW YORK (AP) -- Vincent Piazza says he copped a little something from the set of "Boardwalk Empire" when it finished recording its fifth and final season. He says he kept his cigarette lighter -- because he and it have history. He says it's one of those old-school lighters -- and he had been using it since the pilot. He says it took him about a year to keep from burning himself while trying to light up. He says the lighter was always in his pocket or in a scene -- so he considers it his "little buddy."

Vincent Piazza says the old-school cigarette lighter he kept from "Boardwalk Empire" was more than just a prop.

<<CUT ..013 (09/15/14)>> 00:16 "was really special"

Vincent Piazza

Vincent Piazza says there was one incident when he got the chance while on set to realize what an unique show he was a part of.
