Head coaches for Dalton High School basketball teams submit resignations
DALTON, Ga. —
Dalton High School (DHS) said Thursday that the head coaches for both of their basketball teams have resigned.
In a press release, DHS confirmed that Jim Case, head coaches for the Lady Catamounts basketball team, and Michael Duffie, head coach of the boys' Catamounts basketball team, have submitted resignations.
Case had coached the girls' team since 2016, and Duffie had served as head coach of the boys' team since 2006.
Dalton High Principal Steve Bartoo stated that he appreciated Case’s work with the girls basketball team. “I know Jim worked hard and I appreciate the time and energy he gave to the girls and the team over the last two years.”
Bartoo acknowledged Duffie had a long tenure as the boys head coach. “Mike has put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into our basketball program,” Bartoo said, “I appreciate his commitment over the last 12 years.”
DHS says it is immediately beginning a search for new head coaches for the teams.
Both Case and Duffie will remain as teachers at the high school.
