Hamilton Co. Schools calendar review could change when your kids go to school
A Hamilton County Department of Education (HCDE) school calendar review could change when your children go to school.
The district is delaying approval of next year's school calendar.
The HCDE plans to form a committee with parents, the community, and staff to look at possibly changing when students take holiday breaks.
The group will work in January and early February to review calendar options and prepare a calendar for board approval.
“Teachers, staff, students and the community will all be invited to provide options they would like to see included in the calendar and be encouraged to give their thoughts on options the committee considers,” Dr. Johnson added.
Superintendent Dr. Bryan Johnson says they will have the calendar ready for approval in February or March.
If you would like to participate in the calendar committee, please send an email to Tim Hensley at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, why you would like to work on the calendar committee, and the school or schools your children attend or in which community you live if you do not have children in school. The meeting dates and times will be determined by the participants selected to serve on the committee.
