Modern medicine with an old-fashioned twist - that's what one local doctor promises with his unique practice.

During a time when the world of health insurance is uncertain, Dr. Matthew Hitchcock is doing things his own way in Chattanooga, by making housecalls.

"Instead of 5 minutes face time with the patient, I spend an hour or an hour and a half or two sometimes," he says.

His wife Kathleen is his nurse. So his practice is small. However, he treats about 150 patients in all.

His patients pay a flat monthly fee --75 dollars for adults, 25 for children-- that includes anything Dr. Hitchcock can do himself in the office.
