Celebrate Local Food this Sunday at the marketGaining Ground, , whose members will educate market-goers about their Harvested Here local food certification program. The program is a part of a growing movement of local growers, sellers and others who are committed to increasing the production and consumption of local food in the Chattanooga region. When people shop at Chattanooga Market and other local farmers' markets, the Harvested Here label signifies that the food being sold there was grown or raised within 100 miles of Chattanooga. "Through opportunities like Celebrate Local Food Day at the Chatt Market, we can recognize that not only is local food better for our health, it's also better for our local economy and environment.
At Chattanooga Market, Harvested Here will host several local groups who will be on hand to demonstrate their involvement in Chattanooga's food community such as: Slow Food Chattanooga, St. Andrews Community Garden, Fair Share, Chattanooga area Food Bank, Crabtree Farms, St. Alban's Farmers Market, Signal Mountain Farmers Market, Brainerd Farmers Market, Main Street Farmers Market, Chattanooga Sustainable Farmers, Land Trust for Tennessee, Creative Discovery Museum, and Gaining Ground
Additionally, at 11:30am, 212 Market will have a cooking demonstration/sampling event and Hennen's will offer the same at 12:30pm, both using fresh local ingredients from the Market.
Live music on the EPB stage for Sunday will be David Elliott at 12:30 and Mark Kelly Hall at 2:00.

RIVERFRONT NIGHTS/HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
as we mention earlier in the week - riverfront nights begins with a free concert each saturday night for the next few weeks and new this year down at the waterfront is something brand new a green space tent
and joining us today is kayce foote with habitat for humanity and they will be at the green space tent this saturday night
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area will host a 5K Mud Run featuring a military-style obstacle course race with most of the obstacles surrounded by (or consisting entirely of) mud on August 11th.
The event will be held on the grounds of Greenway Farms. This event, titled Chattanooga Mud Run, will attract over 2000 participants from all sectors of the community. Funds raised through the Chattanooga Mud Run support the mission and works of Habitat for Humanity in Chattanooga.
